Over the course of a year and across three states, our team partnered with Cyber Florida to produce, film, and edit a full-length documentary, Do We Belong Here? Our mission was to empower women in a traditionally male-dominated field, and help them to feel heard and seen. Then, overhaul their YouTube channel to ensure the message reaches and inspires far and wide.
A Year-Long Project Showcasing Women in Cybersecurity
Hacking the Status Quo
With a mission to highlight women’s journeys in cybersecurity, Cyber Florida brought our team on to create something entirely new. Do We Belong Here is a powerful, 82-minute documentary that weaves together diverse perspectives and personal experiences.
From the start, we shaped the full creative vision—defining the film’s look, feel, and storytelling approach. We interviewed countless women, capturing their stories of breaking into the industry and the challenges they faced once inside.
The documentary was largely inspired by Rex Wilson and Sarina Rose of Cyber Florida. As one of the hosts of the Do We Belong Here? podcast, Sarina, alongside Rex, wanted to expand the conversation after hearing firsthand how many women struggled to enter and gain respect in cybersecurity.
Once production wrapped, we shifted focus to Cyber Florida’s YouTube channel, ensuring the film reached the widest audience possible. Oh, and there may have been a snazzy Tampa Theatre premiere of the full documentary to kickstart the message reach.

brightly colored backdrops allowed us to maintain continuity as we traveled from state to state for our interviews
The creative inspiration for all of our podcast hosts, and for select interviewees, was actually the Netflix documentary, Bad Vegan. Our Director of Photography on this project, Kevin, loved the look in the film and felt it would enhance our mission of women empowerment in the documentary as a whole.

Cyber Florida’s Digital Presence
Empowering Viewers through visuals
Our work with Cyber Florida wasn’t just about creating a beautiful documentary—it was about building a community. By engaging with viewers in the comments, incorporating feedback into future content, and crafting videos that answered real cybersecurity questions, we positioned Cyber Florida as a top, trusted resource in the field.
our approach ensured that the channel grew not only in numbers, but also in its ability to foster meaningful connections with viewers
chasing the story, state to state
For Do We Belong Here, we traveled beyond our home base of Tampa Bay, capturing stories across three states that each added a unique layer to the documentary.
In Atlanta, we filmed at the Black Girls in Cyber Summit, where we heard powerful stories of resilience and support. One of our most memorable interviews happened in an obscure hallway with Dr. Fatou—proof that sometimes being backed into a corner is where you discover what you’re truly capable of.
Chicago brought a high-level roundtable discussion with CISCO, where we captured the entire hour-long conversation using a four-camera setup, dynamically rotating to follow the discussion. We rigged an overhead light with a medium menace arm and lantern, ensuring every moment was perfectly lit.
Then there was Nashville—easily the most visually exciting stop. This was the culmination of our year-long video production. We captured the essence of the WiCyS (Women in Cybersecurity) event, and interviewed Jen Easterly, the former Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in the Biden administration. Nashville’s scenic drives and nightlife atmosphere brought a whole new dimension to the film and wrapped up it beautifully.
Breaking Barriers
cyber florida’s youtube evolution
Our team began by assessing Cyber Florida’s existing YouTube channel, identifying archived podcasts and any current assets that could be repurposed. We tackled challenges such as irregular uploads, unorganized content, and branding transitions to build a consistent, engaging channel. We developed a content calendar to maintain a steady flow of uploads, including long-form podcasts, short-form videos, and YouTube Shorts.
To ensure maximum reach and engagement, we employed SEO best practices, crafted engaging thumbnails, and integrated clear calls to action. Mid-year, we seamlessly incorporated a branding update into our ongoing production schedule, maintaining the channel’s cohesive aesthetic while aligning with Cyber Florida’s updated vision.
Regular analytics reviews allowed us to refine our approach, ensuring that the channel’s growth was both strategic and sustainable. Through consistent content management, repurposing archived footage, and producing high-quality videos, we transformed their digital presence. This collaboration resulted in significant channel growth, enhanced engagement, and improved audience retention.
Tampa Theatre Premiere
After the documentary was complete, Cyber Florida wanted to show it off in a big way. They rented the historical Tampa Theatre for the evening and together, we launched the documentary into the world. With nearly 500 people watching the screen, there were tears all around by the end of the film. You could feel the change in the room. Our team was in attendance of course, and it was a night to remember!
“Two Stories Media transformed our YouTube channel into a thriving educational platform. Their creativity, attention to detail, and willingness to collaborate set them apart. Thanks to their efforts, our content has reached and engaged a far wider audience than we ever anticipated. It’s been a pleasure working with their team, and we look forward to future projects together.”
